In this post I’m going to talk about two do not’s that people don’t seem to be aware of.

Nowadays, muscle building can be taught by just telling people what they shouldn’t do. And that is the way I’ll write this post.

There are two main things most people do that they shouldn’t.

  1. Relying on supplements to bulk up.
  2. Not training above their limits.

The first one is very common, everyone knows. Lots of people rely only on supplements to build up muscles. They think that somehow the supplements will make they grow, as if they were some kind of magic pills. There is no such thing as magic pills.

Supplements can help, but taking care of your diet will give you better results in the long term. Not counting that you won’t spend even half of the money you’d with supplements.

The second is for people that keep the same amount of weight for weeks. You won’t progress (i.e. build up muscles) if you don’t go above your limits! You should increase weights or reps every week, thus forcing your body to go a little higher than it’s used to go – that is when real stimulus to muscle growth happens.
