The Most Fundamental Principle Of All Weight Gain Workouts

It seems that people have forgotten why they do workouts. For these, I’m here to remember them before talking about the fundamental principle of muscle building workouts.

You do workouts to stimulate muscle growth. Some people don’t know or have forgotten that their bodies don’t grow during the workouts – they grow during the period of rest.

You make your muscles grow by exposing your body to new situations which your muscles need to make more work to support your body. This way your body will notice that it’s not strong enough, so it’ll cause muscle growth.

People expose their bodies to new situations during the workouts; their bodies will grow while they rest.

What I have referred as situations previously is the amount of weights you lift in 99% of cases. So, if you lift 60lbs, your body will grow enough to lift 60lbs – nothing more.

Knowing that will make it easy to conclude which is the most fundamental principle of muscle building.

You should be exposing your body to newer situations (heavier weights) every time you can. That is, you should never stop doing workouts with above your threshold weights.

I am a professional personal trainer offline. I advice all my students to be increase the intensity of their workouts by 5 to 10%.
